Puppy love hit Butler University Saturday as three generations of mascots were on display at Hinkle Fieldhouse to introduce the new addition to the famed canine family.  Blue III (a.k.a. Trip, Trey) premiered as the  mascot-in-training during the sold out men’s basketball game against Indiana State. Currently, the eight year-old Blue II holds the reigns as the school’s mascot. Blue I, an 11-year old English bulldog and former mascot of the school, was also on hand Saturday for Blue III’s debut.

Blue III will start in on official duties greeting patrons at the campus Starbucks at Atherton Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The mascot-in-training will also be introducing himself at City Dogs Grocery from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Feb. 25.
