ESPN announced Bill Polian has joined the network as an NFL analyst. The former Colts vice chairman will start March 12, four days after the March 8 deadline for the Colts to decide on whether to pay quarterback Peyton Manning a $28 million bonus . Polian told the Indianapolis Star he expects Manning to play again, even if it’s not with the Colts.
“I think he wants to play very badly,” Polian said. “He’s a great competitor. He didn’t like the way last year went for him.’’
In a statement, the network announced Polian will contribute on the television programs “NFL Live,” “NFL 32″ and “SportsCenter.” ESPN stated the former football executive will also “provide his front-office expertise” to several other outlets for the sports media giant.
